Mastering is the last step in the music production stage before
manufacturing and duplication. It’s also the last chance
you’ll have to sonically sweeten up your mix tape, remove
problem frequencies, and adjust the relative level balance
between songs on your album. Done properly, this process will
help bring your project to life and help it compete alongside
major commercial releases. In other words, mastering will
help you get noticed! Call us for a free tour!
• We accept digital masters of 44.1, 48kHz or 96kHz
sampling rates. Accepted formats include CD-R (16 or 24bit
SDII, WAV, AIFF soundfiles), 16 or 24bit DAT, 1630 3/4”
U-Matic tape, 1/2” or 1/4” 2-track (Dolby SR,
dbx, Dolby A).
• If your analog tapes are old or in bad shape, they
may need baking in a convection oven - don’t try this
at home! For a nominal charge we can have them playing just
like they did 25 years ago!

•
Usually we work from your original masters, but make back-up
copies of your master whenever possible. Carefully document
your master tapes. The reason is simple: time is money! If
you have multiple mixes of a song, make sure you are very
specific on which one to use, either by specifying the DAT
ID number or ABS time.
• There are a variety of accepted formats that can be
used for manufacturing. Some formats are acceptable standards
and some formats are not. Please ask us as we can likely deal
with anything that you have. Technology changes daily, so
please call us with any questions. We’re ready!
